One Year In: Where From Here? Community Forum
We mark the end of the first year of the second Trump administration by coming together to consider strategies for the year ahead, building on small local victories and asking how we can create a network of support across many of the movements, actions, and organizations seeking to create change in the Winston-Salem area.
We have invited panelists from Camel City Indivisible, Siembra NC, and North Carolina Tenants Union to reflect on these questions. We’ll then consider ways to develop a non-hierarchical way to connect the various efforts for awareness and support as we continue our essential work of standing up for dignity and human rights and the institutions critical to our democracy. Saturday, February 28, 9 am - 11 am at Triad Park
Late Winter Forest Therapy Walk
Join us for a slow, reflective walk to deepen a sense of reciprocity with the forest community. There will be invitations to tune in to senses, solo time, and time to reflect together with a closing ritual. We will walk no more than 1 mile. We gather at Triad Park at the parking lot adjacent to Shelter #4 and the playgrounds. Suggested donation of $20.
Triad Park is located at 9652 West Market Street, Kernersville. Sign up at https:www.vancoevents.com/us/DMYP

Saturday, March 14, 9 am – Noon Active Hope Mini Retreat
We will draw on some of the practices in Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone’s book Active Hope, noticing where we might experience hope and focus for our own energies. This mini retreat will be interactive with time for solo reflection, small group conversation, and embodied ways to be in community. The practices draw on the wisdom of a global movement called The Work That Reconnects, honing approaches that help us to listen for our own true meaning in turbulent times and support one another in being sent forth to do the work that is each of ours to do without being overwhelmed. Suggested donation: $20.
Sunday, March 22, 4 – 6 pm
Evoking a Spiritual Spring: Listening Circle
Using poetry, images, and the experience of early spring, we will make room for each to tap into our inner wisdom to inform our current questions and wondering. The community will be built on respect for this journey inward and gentle, open questions. All dimensions of participation will be by invitation. https:www.vancoevents.com/us/DMYO
